'Addicted' to the Music
By Robert Waldner
“I was wearing a Barney costume in front of a large audience at the age of two,” recalls Stevie Lynne of her first stage performance. A songwriter since nine years
old, she has always had artistry coursing through her veins. “In my preteen years, I wrote over dramatic, heartbreaking songs,” she laughs. Crediting her mom with
much of her musical development, Stevie Lynne continues, “She released a children’s album that included some of my adolescent originals.”

Born in Orlando where she spent her childhood, Stevie Lynne’s family later moved west. “We moved to Montana after my mom watched ‘The Horse Whisperer’,”
she jokes. As a young adult, Stevie Lynne attended nursing school in Pensacola. “My first RN job after graduation was in Spokane, Washington,” she says.
Taking her musicality to new heights out west, Stevie Lynne began performing live and released her first album ‘Liars’ in 2015. Oozing with piano and sultry lyrics,
‘Liars’ largely told the story of her self-journey. “I established a strong connection with Jimmy at Amplified Wax Recording Studio,” she says. Years later, Stevie
Lynne serendipitously met her husband, Joey Anderson. “He was a judge in a music contest I was in,” she says. “I made second place, but I still took home the grand
prize.” Retired Airforce and a musician/songwriter living in the Spokane area, Joey was native to St. Augustine with a background in country and southern rock.
“Our styles couldn’t have been more different,” says Stevie Lynne. “We were the musical equivalent of oil and water. It was quite humorous.” As their relationship
blossomed, so did their musical cohesion. “We fell in love with each other’s style,” she says.
Since exchanging vows and moving back to Our Town in early 2024, Stevie Lynne and Joey have established their roots. Their love and artistry have sprouted new
beginnings in the fertility of the Ancient City. Stevie Lynne has released her second album, ‘Liminalities’, which focuses on the liminal space and natural progression
through the channels of rock, soft pop, and soul. The lovers’ duo plays as Jovie & the HoneyChuckle in venues around the area. In addition, Stevie Lynne continues
to shine in her solo career with a third album in the works and her latest single, ‘Addicted to You’ slated for release in October. With a passion to create intimacy
through songwriting, she says, “My ultimate goal is to connect with people through music.”
